For those seeking entertainment for your Wedding Reception, let us first congratulate you on your upcoming marriage! Marriage is truly a once in a lifetime event and we understand that it has to be perfect the first time, and when it comes to your reception music is a key factor in making the event perfect.

Birdy Productions has extensive experience providing entertainment services for Wedding Receptions. Because of our extensive experience with Wedding Receptions we have adopted the following best practices:

	We always have two DJ's at your wedding. We don't feel that one person can effectively coordinate all of the people and events that are required to make a successful wedding reception.
	Birdy Productions will not only play music and announce events, we also will work with your banquet facility coordinator and event coordinator to make sure that dinner, events, etc. are properly coordinated.
	Birdy Productions will work with your Photographer and Videographer to ensure that they will be prepared for special moments such as your first dance, the cutting of the cake, the making of toasts and presentations, etc.
	We always meet with the Bride and Groom, in person, a couple of weeks before the event to create a plan and schedule of everything that will happen during the reception. In addition Birdy Productions provides a series of online planning tools that you can use to help plan the perfect reception. These tools include guestlist management, custom songlist, and a online reception planning form.
	We always provide a comprehensive song list to our prospective clients so that they can identify key songs that they would like to be played. Also if we do not list a song that is special to our clients, we will acquire it for them. In this way we always have the songs that are most important to our clients regardless of how obscure they are. We also maintain our entire song list of both music and karaoke ON-LINE in an easily searchable format.
	We work out the pronunciation of names to make sure we appropriately recognize the people that are important to your event.
	We always work with our clients to understand who their guests will be and how to best meet their needs. For example, we try to identify if any of the guests have epilepsy and if so we avoid the use of high powered strobe lights. For guests with respiratory problems or emphysema we avoid the use of any fogger or haze effects.
	We always plan for emergencies by having backup equipment. We always have backup amplifiers, CD players, and speakers .... Just In Case. We understand that it is vital to ensure that we take every pre-caution to ensure that there are NO issues at your event.

Picking the entertainer for your event is very important to the success of your reception. Bird Productions strongly urges our prospective clients to shop around and make sure they are getting exactly what they need. We further suggest the following guidance:

Always meet with your DJ or Entertainer well in advance of your reception. Get to know them and their personality. Make sure that they will be a good fit for your event. The best DJ in the world won't provide you with the perfect event if their personality or style doesn't match your needs. We always caution our prospective clients that we feel that since weddings are events for families ... family rules should apply towards music selection. We are simply not comfortable in playing music that would be offensive to older adults or not appropriate for children. Now that doesn't mean that we won't play all of the current music favorites, we just won't play anything that hasn't been edited. In other words no explicit lyrics.

Other DJ's may have no problems with this it's all a matter of style. Birdy Productions strives to be a family friendly DJ service. It is one of those things that we feel makes us special. However, if that is not what you are looking for, then we will gladly recommend other DJ's that might be a better fit.

Another piece of advice that we give our clients is make a point to see your DJ or Entertainer in action. This doesn't need to be a long formal process, but most good DJ's can and will tell you of events where they will be performing prior to your event (that is if you aren't planning at the last moment). Please Take this opportunity. Seeing your DJ in action at an actual event is the best way to really get a sense of whether you will like their personality and style.

Shop Around!! Many times we get calls and after we talk with our prospective clients we suggest that they get other opinions. We do this because we want to make sure that our clients are well informed, understand what is available in the market, and are getting the exact service that best meets their needs. The best way for them to make an informed decision is to have all of the information, so we encourage them to speak to other DJ's and make an informed decision.

Finally price should not be the only factor that you look at in a DJ. Prices vary widely. A lot of this has to do with business philosophy, experience, costs, etc. Although at Birdy Productions we pride ourselves on providing high quality services for our value conscious clients. Most of clients tell us that price had little to do with their decision. It really does come down to personality, quality of service, and style and what YOU believe will make your special day PERFECT!
